Hi folks, it’s been some time since I’ve last blogged. Hi, how are you? Doing well? How are the kids? By kids, I mean how are your fur friends?
Today’s video is all about social media. Actually, a few of my upcoming videos will probably be about social media because I have such strong opinions. Doesn’t everyone?
I’m starting a new “series” called The Morning Tea; hopefully, I’ll be posting every Monday with hot spilling tea that’s on my mind. For the first episode, I’m here to remind you yet again that social media IS A LIE.
I mean that social media shows the highlights of everyone’s life and never the actual behind the scenes. We get a glimmer of everyone’s life and journeys. It could get overwhelming thinking:
In January, I was tired of just thinking about how much I needed to “keep up” with social media when in fact, I shouldn’t let it dictate my life as much as I’m letting it. We only see the put together versions of everything, but we tend to forget that. At least, I know I do.
It isn’t easy to be a person who works in the field and is always surrounded by it every day. Maybe this is a sign I change career paths? But it’s what I love to do.
This video is a solid reminder to myself and to whoever is reading this, don’t let someone else’s profile indicate that you’re not where you’re meant to be. That person could be struggling just as much as you are. I go through this process at least once a month, and it’s easy to tell yourself to stop. It’s the act of actually doing it that’s harder.
We’re all in this together y’all.
As for what I meant about working in social media being glamorized? Stay tuned.
