This week, the Golden Globes 2021 nominations were announced, and we’re going to zero in on Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso starring Jason Sudeikis, which picked up four nominations. 

Ladies and gents, Ted Lasso, is a must-see. 

Here’s a quick rundown for those unfamiliar: Ted Lasso is an American football coach sent to England to coach a soccer team, a sport he has no experience in whatsoever. Does that stop him? Nope. 

Despite all the obstacles and wrenches thrown his way, Lasso attacks all problems head-on with a positive attitude. This is a fresh breath of air, especially for anyone who gets easily frustrated and rage quits before coming to a solution. Everything about this show screams positivity leaving you feeling for Lasso’s character at each episode’s closing. 

Ted Lasso is the feel-good show we need in our lives right now. I’ll never forget, after every long week of work, how excited I was to know I’ll be tuning in to a new episode of Ted Lasso. That feeling is a rarity. I only feel it once again now with Wandavision. 

 I won’t spoil any storylines, but let’s say Sudeikis’ character is somewhat of an anomaly. He’s the cheerful friend you want to punch in the face for being so optimistic all the time, but on the other hand, someone you’re relieved to have in your corner to look at the bright side of things. It’s the type of show you wish nothing bad upon any of the characters (well, except one) because everyone is trying to get by just like in real life. Dare I say… It gives me faith in humanity? Just for a millisecond. 

Apple TV+ picked up the show for two more seasons, and they’re currently in the thick of season two right now. In a recent interview with Deadline, co-creator Bill Lawrence said, “We have no idea how long the show is going to last now, except I bet much like Ted himself, we’ll keep doing it as long as it’s fun.”
